A former IRS trial attorney, Mr. Richards has been solving tax problems for over 20 years. He is a parter at Greenspoon Marder, an AmLaw 200 law firm, an adjunct professor of law, and an expert to the cannabis industry and in IRC Section 280E matters.


Portia Vogt is the Managing Partner of Twin Cities Tax in Prior Lake, MN. She focuses on Representationand Small Business tax clients. Twin Cities Tax has 4 employees, all of whom work most hours from their own locations remotely coordinating. Her practice has been able to deploy new technology due in part that her spouse, Michael Vogt, PhD specializes in artificial intelligences. Portia’s own degrees are in Business and Communications from Augsburg University, in Minneapolis. She is an Enrolled Agent and NTPI Fellow. Portia and her husband, Michael, have five adult children. Three sons’ serve in the Military and their two daughters both work in the entertainment & travel industry. Portia and Michael believe that professional education is key to achieving the American Dream and bothhave been sought out to teach in their fields. Portia loves to travel, motorcycling ,gardening, scuba diving and enjoys getting in exercise most days.


Randy manages two accounting offices near Des Moines, IA. He has been preparing taxes since 1992. He really enjoys meeting with fellow tax preparers and has traveled to many states as a tax instructor. When not working with clients or out on the road instructing, he enjoys hiking in the National Parks or exploring the bike trails in the Midwest.


Rita Ryan is the Founder of RRITS and a seasoned Tax Attorney with more than 18 years of experience advising clients on cross-border personal/business taxation, international investment structuring, multi-jurisdictional estate planning, and U.S. tax compliance obligations arising from global activities and holdings. She is widely regarded for her ability to navigate complex international tax regimes and translate evolving regulatory requirements into practical, strategic guidance.
In addition to her client-facing work, Rita serves as a trusted advisor to fellow tax professionals, providing specialized support in identifying international reporting obligations, advising on complex filings, and reviewing workpapers and forms to ensure technical accuracy in an increasingly dynamic international compliance environment.
Prior to founding RRITS, Rita served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Private Client Services at M+, where she focused on integrated tax, business, and wealth preservation planning for high-net-worth business owners and their families. Earlier in her career, she founded and led Wolf & Co.’s International Tax Services Practice, advising both individuals and entities on the tax planning and compliance aspects of international ownership structures. Rita began her legal career in private practice as an Associate Attorney at Vacovec, Mayotte & Singer, LLP, concentrating on international and domestic taxation, estate planning, and tax controversy matters.
Rita is also an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Tax Program at Boston University School of Law, where she co-founded and co-teaches the course Foreign Information Reporting and Withholding. In addition, she regularly teaches advanced international tax topics for Tax Practice Pros, LumiQ, and the National Association of Enrolled Agents, contributing to the education of practitioners nationwide.


Robert is an associate attorney with two years of tax controversy experience at both Frost Law and the University of Baltimore Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. Robert is active in the Maryland tax community, serving a year term as the student liaison to the MSBA Taxation Council. During that time Robert served as co-editor of Maryland Taxes, helping launch the publication in its current digital format. Since then Robert has also co-authored the current version of the Maryland Tax Practitioner's Handbook. In addition to his work, Robert is an active member of the Annapolis community who enjoys fishing, boating, and everything the Chesapeake Bay has to offer.


Robert “Bob” Kerr brings extensive experience across the public sector, trade associations, and private sector in tax administration, tax policy, and public policy. During over a decade at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), he held key positions in both Washington, DC headquarters and the Chicago district office. While working in the Service’s artificial intelligence labs, Bob led two nationwide electronic filing pilot programs, coordinating across multiple functional areas. He also served on the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, assisting Senator Grassley with IRS oversight on issues ranging from private debt collection to relocation expenses.
Bob’s experience with the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and H&R Block provides him with a deep perspective on the needs of tax professionals. He served as NAEA’s chief advocate for more than a decade, acted as primary spokesperson to tax and general media, founded its political action committee, and later served as head of office, championing the profession at every level.


Roger has been doing taxes since 2006. During that time he has been the General Manager for a large franchise in Atlanta as well as a Technology Manager for several tax franchises. Roger obtained his Enrolled Agent Status in 2011. Roger is also an NTPI Fellow. Prior to getting into taxes Roger worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Leon County Florida for 8 years. Roger was injured in the line of duty and moved into the tax field. He was awarded the Medal of Valor and Purple Heart by the Florida Sheriff’s Association.


Ruth Mattson, Esq. is a partner in Nixon Peabody LLP’s International Private Clients group. They guide families and individuals through the complex world of cross-border wealth. Whether working with family offices, executives, or multigenerational families, Ruth brings clarity and creativity to plans involving global mobility, international estate planning and multinational trust and estate administration. Ruth is a frequent speaker and author on international estate planning topics for the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, and other professional organizations around the world. Ruth received their J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and their LL.M. from Boston University School of Law’s Graduate Tax Program. They are a lecturer at Boston University School of Law, an Academician of the International Academy of Estate & Trust Law, a Fellow of ACTEC, a former co-chair of STEP New England, and a recipient of the President’s Award from the Boston Estate Planning Council.


Salvatore P. Candela, EA has been preparing taxes since 1986, passed the EA exam in 1997, became an Enrolled Agent in 1998, and a Fellow of NTPI (National Tax Practice Institute) in 2000, and has been a featured speaker around the country. He is the owner and founder of The TaxAdvocate Group, LLC, which is focused on tax problem resolution and has offices in New York (Queens & Wall Street). Steven Mangiameli is an Enrolled Agent with over a decade of hands-on experience at a thriving, high-volume tax firm west of Seattle.
