This Program explains the critical distinction between a partnership’s inside
basis in its assets and a partner’s outside basis in the partnership interest.
This course focuses on how basis is created, adjusted, tracked, and
applied in common partnership transactions, including contributions,
allocations of income and loss, distributions, liabilities, transfers of
partnership interests, and liquidations. Attendees will learn how inside and
outside basis differences affect tax reporting, loss deductibility, gain
recognition, and planning opportunities, with an emphasis on identifying
common compliance risks and applying the rules in real world client
situations.
