
This program provides tax professionals with a comprehensive overview of the IRS's collection and appeal processes. Participants will gain insight into the initial assessment of tax debts, the sequence of collection actions, and the various appeal options available, including the Collection Due Process (CDP) and Collection Appeals Program (CAP). The program also explores effective strategies for dealing with notices of lien and levy, understanding taxpayers' rights, and leveraging appeal mechanisms to resolve tax disputes without litigation.

Robert is an associate attorney with two years of tax controversy experience at both Frost Law and the University of Baltimore Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. Robert is active in the Maryland tax community, serving a year term as the student liaison to the MSBA Taxation Council. During that time Robert served as co-editor of Maryland Taxes, helping launch the publication in its current digital format. Since then Robert has also co-authored the current version of the Maryland Tax Practitioner's Handbook. In addition to his work, Robert is an active member of the Annapolis community who enjoys fishing, boating, and everything the Chesapeake Bay has to offer.
